Abstract

In the 2013 curriculum, there is a need for learning resources that fit the demands of the curriculum by considering the needs of students such as LKS. Physics learning sometimes lacks the ability to think or reason so that the learning outcomes of physics are still low. Therefore it is necessary for Student Worksheets (LKS) that can train scientific reasoning (Scientific Reasoning) to improve students' physics learning outcomes in Vocational High Schools. The research objectives were: (1) Assessing the learning outcomes of vocational physics students after using worksheets based on scientific reasoning on Direct Current Circuits, (2) Knowing how much students respond to Student Worksheets (LKS) based on scientific reasoning on Direct Current Circuits. This research used the Pretest Posttest Control Group Design research design, by giving the pretest and posttest questions in the control class and the experimental class. Based on the results of the research showed that after learning using Scientific Reasoning based worksheets on the experimental class experienced a significant increase from the initial average value of 28.8462 increasing to 84.1667Key Word : Learning Achievement , Scientific Reasoning, Student worksheet

Abstract

Abstact: The research aimed to study the influence of guided inquiry learning with pictorial riddle for ability of verbal representation straigt motion matter for student in senior high school (SMA). The populated of this research was all student of class X in one of private senior high school in Pakusari. The eksperimental class taught using guided inquiry learning while the control class is taught employing a conventional learming model. Sampling is conducted adopting a cluster random sampling. The student pre-test and post-post test data ability of verbal representation was analyzed by independent sample t test on SPSS 23. The results of this research showed that guided inquiry learning with pictorial riddle for ability of verbal straigt motion matter for student in senior high school (SMA) is better than those learning with a conventional learning model.Keywords: guided inquiry, pictorial riddle, verbal representation

Abstract

To obtain the purpose of physics learning is needed teoritically learning, nevertheless the existence of learning environment that supports students’ experience directly. This research was conducted is one of Jember Senior High School. In this research, the research subject were students at XI grade Ambulu Senior High School state. The sample which were taken from two classes, such as experimental class 1 which use real laboratory activity and experimental class 2 which use virtual laboratory, by determining the class using random technic sampling. The method of data collection used worksheet instrument as assessment observation of science process skills, and posttest which is formed multiple choice question as learning assessment of cognitive aspect. Then, data was analyzed to determine science process skill and learning assessment using real laboratory activity and virtual laboratory on the subject matter of the kinetic theory of gases which use SPSS 23. Based on the result of analysis data can be conclude that: (1) There was significant differences, science process skills towards physics learning use real and virtual laboratory activities on the subject of the kinetic theory of gases, such as the average score of students’ sciens process skills in grade 1 is higher than it in grade 2. (2) There was significant differences, learning assessment towards physics learning use real and virtual laboratory activities on the subject of the kinetic theory of gases, such as at grade 1 has the criteria for the students learning assessment are high category while at grade 2 has the criteria for the students learning assessment in the medium category.Key word: real laboratory, virtual laboratory, science process skills, learning assessment.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe and analyzed the validity of Student Worksheet (LKS) based on Collaborative Creativity on the subject of direct current circuits on high school students. The type of this research in educational development research. This study used research and development prosedures according to Nievenn (2006). Validation was done by expert validators and user validators. The technique of collecting data used a validation sheet of the student worksheet developed. Based on the result of the validation of the user validators was 4,32 which was include in the valid category and the result oh the expert validator was 4,05 which fall in to the valid category. Students Worksheets which was developed can increase students learning outcomes by gaining 0,7189 and high category. Thus, Collaborative Creativity based Student Worksheet (LKS) based on direct current circuits was include in the valid category and feasible category used as students worksheet in direct current material learning for class XII science.Keywords : Validity, Students Worksheet, Collaborative Creativity

Abstract

Using the fast method is one of the categories of fast counting ability (Hardiono, 2016). One fast method is the Pythagoras method which can be used to solve special relativity questions (Korkmaz, 2016). This research an experimental research to study the student cognitive learning outcomes in solving Einstein's special relativity problems using the Pythagoras method. This research was conducted in Ambulu State High School with a population of students in class XII MIPA in semester II of the 2018/2019 academic year with samples of class XII MIPA 3 as the experimental class and class XII MIPA 1 as the control class. Each class consists of 36 students. Data obtained from documentation and learning outcomes tests in the form of written tests with 20 questions taken from national exam questions and college entrance exams. The results of the study using the Mann-Whitney test showed that the average value of the experimental class learning outcomes was higher than the control class. So this result reveals that the application of the Pythagoras method in solving Einstein special relativity questions has a significant effect on the student cognitive learning outcomes of class XII students of Ambulu High School.Key word: Einstein's special relativity, Pythagoras method, the student cognitive learning outcomes

Abstract

Physics learning at this time, show that the students only memorize the formulas without understanded the actual physical meaning, besides that the learning so far seems monotonous and does not attract students' interest and desire to learn. Science learning that is expected now is creative and innovative science learning is science learning that provides experiences related to students' daily lives. The concept of dynamic fluid is a concept that exists in the real world of students, but the object in dynamic fluid material is difficult to present directly in the class, an example of the application of dynamic fluid in everyday life namely the river. Irrigation in the Jenggawah area of Jember Regency is a place to be identified. This research aimed to identify the physical quantities of fluid in the gutter irrigation river in the Jenggawah area of Jember as strengthening the understanding of students' physics concepts. This research included descriptive research. There were two different measurement points, besides the observation of the type of water flow in the irrigation, as well as the average discharge in the river flow of Jenggawah irrigation gutter for one year from the UPT of Jenggawah Regional Water Resources. The results of identification of fluid physical quantities include irrigation width, sterophome path length, sterophome travel time through trajectory, cross-sectional area, flow velocity, discharge, and flow type. Based on research conducted at the UPT of Jenggawah Regional Water Resources in Jember, the water flowed to the irrigation has a different average discharge rate. Abstract

For making students’ understanding about content of knowledge can be done byincreasing their scientific explanatory skill, in which this skill can be done throughpractical work. This research is a quasi-experimental research which aims to examinethe effect of worksheets based on scientific explanation on direct current circuitmaterial towards students’ scientific explanatory skill in vocational school. Thisresearch was conducted at the even semester of 2018/2019 academic year in vocationalhigh school 2 Jember grade X DP 1 and X BKP in which each class consisted of 34students. This research was using data collection technique of test and documentation.The data analysis technique itself was using independent sample t-test by the SPSSprogram. The result of the independent sample t-test is the score of the scientificexplanation test was different between the experimental class and the control class.This result showed that there was an effect in the use of worksheets based on scientificexplanation theory on direct current circuit towards students’ scientific explanatoryskill in vocational school.Key word: direct current circuit, students worksheet, scientific explanation.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the level of students’ critical thinking skill after learning using guided inquiry model with Mind Mapping techniques; (2) to assess the effectiveness of learning temperature and heat using guided inquiry learning model with Mind Mapping techniques towards students’ critical thinking skill. The type of this study was descriptive along with one group Pre-test Post-test research design. This research was conducted in one of Senior High Schools in Jember. The population of this study was all students from grade XI IPA and class XI IPA 3 consists of 33 students was the sample of this study. The data collection technique was test, interview, and documentation. The data analysis technique of critical thinking skill used the percentage of post-test score which was gotten, and the analysis of learning effectiveness used normalized N-Gain test to determine the improvement of students’ critical thinking skill. The result showed that the improvement of students’ critical thinking skill increased after the learning with average score 82, 73 which was categorized as high. And the data analysis of learning effectiveness showed N-gain score was 0, 7453 and was categorized as high level as well. It can be concluded that after the learning was done using guided inquiry learning model with Mind Mapping techniques, the level of students’ critical thinking skill is high and this model is effective to be applied to increase critical thinking skill of Senior High School students.Keyword: learning effectiveness, guided inquiry model, critical thinking skill
